Eleanor was left bewildered as a resplendent white light enveloped the entire world. She perceived a mystical light that was tinged with the color of her own blood.
She thought she had succeeded.
Sacrifiing her life didn’t necessarily mean she would succeed, but she judged that it seemed to have been achieved at that moment.
“No? Am I the only one who died?”
If that was the case, she was furious, but it was something she couldn’t change. She already knew that the world was unfair. Even if she failed, she had to persevere.
– Eleanor…
The heavy ringing voice was neither as cold nor as ruthless as it sounded. It made the entire world cry, but not loud enough to hurt my head.
Eleanor had a gut feeling it was the voice of a god sealed in a sarcophagus.
She swiveled her head, searching for any sign of the God’s presence, but the figure of God was nowhere to be seen. If the God inside the sarcophagus could only communicate with her through its voice, it didn’t seem to want its figure shown to her.
‘Did the seal break?’
God did not respond to Eleanor’s question and instead remained silent.
Only at that point did Eleanor realize that the legend was not a true depiction of what had been passed down. To begin with, it would have been absurd for God to be sealed in the hands of a single human being.
‘It’s not sealed…’
He had fallen asleep in a sarcophagus that was buried underground. Both members of the imperial couple—the Emperor and the Emperor’s wife—passed away, marking the beginning of the end for the empire. Perhaps it intended to sleep until it was reborn.
– … You are suffering because of my bloodline.
After an extended period of silence, God finally spoke. Eleanor’s face remained expressionless as she continued to gaze at the light. She had the intention of annihilating everyone and everything in the world, but she also planned to set the god free.
It was because of the idea that the world is miserable and difficult because God is imprisoned. However, the fact that God is on earth and not imprisoned made her suffer.
– I will grant your wish.
Eleanor gave a slight shake of her head in response. She already knew that God would not destroy this world.
His woman gave birth to his child, and he died in her hands. This empire ruled by his descendants will be treasured by God.
‘Lie.’
– I’m not lying. Eleanor…What you desire is….
A hand that couldn’t be seen or touched Eleanor’s hair and stroked it. Because no one had ever loved her that much since she was a child, she was on the verge of breaking down in tears.
But Eleanor tried to hold back her tears. She didn’t want break down in tears even if the person in front of her was God.
– With your family…It will be a day to turn what happened to you into something that never happened.
Her eyelids began to weep, and tears began to roll down her cheeks. It was pointless to deceive and lie in front of God.
– Go back, Eleanor…When you close and open your eyes, the world you want will unfold.
Eleanor was led into the luminous abyss with the lightest of hand nudgings. Even though the cold white light was getting darker and darker, she was not afraid because stars were surrounding it.
In the dim light of the stars, Eleanor slowly closed her eyes.
Tears fell down her cheeks, and as each one fell, it transformed into a sparkling new star. Eleanor’s body slowly faded into the light of the stars.

The rough fabric became more pliable after being washed and worn several times. Eleanor was both familiar and affectionate with the touch.
She smelled something that brought back memories of something she had longed for so much that it even crept into her dreams.
Eleanor slowly opened both of her eyes. Her eyes were drawn to the familiar hues, but she had to search her memory because it had been so long since she had seen them.
Soft light was streaming through the yellow curtains that had lost their color under the sunlight. The antiquated colored blankets and dilapidated furniture matched her recollections.
She blinked in disbelief. Tears streamed down her cheeks as if she had been crying in her sleep.
As she got out of bed, Eleanor wiped the tears that were running down her chin.
Her fresh recollections allowed her to recognize what it was. A large mirror with a small corner crack that had been acquired from another house was placed in one corner of the room.
As she got this mirror, she recalled how her brother used to boast and make a big deal about how proud he was of her.
Eleanor looked into the mirror and saw a reflection of herself that was not all that different from the one she recalled seeing in the past. However, given that she was in this room, she must have regressed for at least six years.
The Duke of Armoure would not have given their family the baronial surname ‘Themis’ yet.
‘Perhaps……’
It may have happened in the time before that stupid test. How much I rued that day after finding I was a guide and became the Duke of Armoure’s adopted daughter…!
Eleanor hastily wiped away the rest of her tears and left the room. Her parents weren’t nice people and lived in poverty, but Eleanor had to have two younger brothers and a younger sister.
Millie, the youngest, saw Eleanor while she was out strolling with her laundry basket.
Eleanor put on an act as if she wasn’t going to cry.
She never saw her family again after becoming the Duke of Armore’s adopted daughter. While the Duke of Armoure went so far as to make them barons, Eleanor’s contact with her family irritated him.
Even the most innocuous of letters, to say nothing of meeting, was strictly prohibited.
6 years.
It was a long and frustrating time. Eleanor’s life had changed and became so stressful that she could only be focused on Carlisle.
I’ve been missing you.
Eleanor dashed towards her younger daughter, her eyes brimming with tears, and enveloped her in a warm embrace. She was happier than anyone else at this moment.
So much so that she felt guilty for what she was about to do.

When Carlisle realized something strange had happened, he got out of bed and looked at the ceiling. He lost his mind when he saw Eleanor stab herself in the chest.
So he left everything and ran to Eleanor, even though a dangerous enemy was nearby.
He should have approached Eleanor first.
However, he and Van were both slow. When they finally reached the sarcophagus, the light had taken up most of Eleanor’s body, leaving only her fingers.
They caught her on to just that.
‘Eleanor…!’
What have I got myself into. She was his guide for six years, his woman. It’s just that the unquenchable avarice that consumed him prevented him from admitting it.
Eleanor was his guide.
But Carlisle realized it, and it was never more than a passing thought. She was the only person who could do anything to jolt him out of his complacency.
I can’t even recognize it even though I’m by your side! I was a fool!
Carlisle tried to get his head straight, but everything was a mess. He had no idea what she had done, but something about the situation seemed to reverse.
‘What the hell is this place…. Why am I here?’
Carlisle pulled the sheets back and got out of bed. The bedroom in the Grand Duke’s home was so familiar to him that he was sick of it, but he had no idea artificial flowers were there.
Even if he woke up, he should have been in his room at the imperial palace.
‘What happened to Eleanor?’
Carlisle was sure she had committed suicide by stabbing herself in the heart, but he was sure she would not die.
The reason was unknown. He might have a sense of belonging to the imperial family.
It is not unheard of for members of the Imperial Family to have extraordinary premonitions that are associated with the guides they have worked with in the past. Eleanor had been with him for a long time, so it was not a strange feeling.
Carlisle had pulled the rope, but instead of waiting for the servant, he stepped out of the bedroom. The servant, who had just been running to his room, stopped what he was doing and looked at Carlisle with a confused expression on his face.
“Grand Duke, have you called?”
“Did you just say Grand Duke?”
Carlisle asked with a frown, but the servant did not understand. Almost a month had passed since he killed the emperor and his wife and took the throne.
He had never worked with a servant who was so clumsy that they could get his title confused with someone else’s. Furthermore, the servant in front of him was the same one he had brought to the imperial palace.
A person who had happily called him His Majesty would not change his title now.
Carlisle turned pale at the sudden thought.
“E……Eleanor! Is there Princess Armoure?”
“What do you mean Princess Armoure? As far as I know, the princess has never paid a visit to the residence of the Grand Duke….”
Carlisle remembered that the Duke of Armoure had another daughter. He grabbed his servant by the shoulder and asked again.
“You have to give a straight answer! Has the first princess of Armoure not yet visited the Grand Duke’s residence?”
“The first princess. Isn’t the Duke of Armoure has only one princess?”
Even though Carlisle’s grip hurt his shoulder, the servant replied with enduring pain. When Carlisle heard the response, he immediately let go of his firm grip and stumbled backward as if he were about to sit down.
“Grand Duke!”
Carlisle was about to fall when the servant grabbed hold of him just in time. Carlisle shook his hand and called out to the butler.
It was the moment when all of his six years of hard work went to waste.
